The bread is amazing and the service is very welcoming. This is a gluten paradise! Matcha latte is best in the city and I can not eat avocado toast the same way again
Comfy interior, yummy stuff to eat and drink :)
Excellent milk bread and kaua toast.
Great little breakfast nook with an amazing breakfast sandwich!
First time at the place , loved the distinct flavors. Had the watermelonlychee tea and brown butter mochi. Refreshing, not too sweet. Friendly staff. Good place to hang out with a friend or study/work on the lap top. Better than the usual coffee shop. Fair priced , two items (below) $8.68 .
Went for pastries, but I’d like to come back for the savory items sometime. We got the Kaya Toast, soba cookie, brown butter mochi, anko sticky bun. Skip the sesame horchata, it was too intense, we ended up watering it down. The best thing was the kaya toast, but if we weren’t sharing it we wouldn’t be able to finish it, it gets a little sweet. However, the milk bread that they make is very good, and I’d rather just have that toasted with butter next time. Anko sticky bun had a very dark caramel to it that I enjoyed, bf did not. Everything is well seasoned and flavored, I’m curious to try more.
Everything has been delicious after two visits; the food is super rich so be careful not to over order. When choosing something though...can’t really go wrong.
Nice variety of unique pastries. Loved the white tea with yuzu and ginger. Will have to come back and try breakfast and lunch.
Oh heck yeah. Their Kaya toast was delicious, buttery, and perfectly toasted. The wait wasn't bad and the service was great. I can't wait to try some of their other unique options!
Went here today and I was super angry with myself that today was my first time. What an incredibly special place. Shared the char siu sandwich, sticky bun, marzipan cookie, butter mochi, strawberry cake, breakfast sandwich, kaya toast, with my friend. This is the first time in a very long time I’ve been so excited about a bakery.
So yummy. Kaya toast is a must!
Yes. Brown butter mochi is a top-3 SF treat.
Had been wanting to try this place for a while and it exceeded my expectations. Some of the best food I’ve had in a while. The Kaya Toast was incredible. The coconut pandan jam is perfect on top of the fluffy toasted bread. We also tried the avocado toast, which had some unique toppings that leveled it up from a traditional avocado toast. Again, the bread here makes everything taste amazing. Can’t wait to return and try more!
Airy, clean and modern pastry cafe with buttery bread and varieties of drinks. All the dishes and drinks we've tried were yummy.
Get the breakfast sandwich. Everything here is crafted with skill and love. Great food, atmosphere, staff and coffee
Very tasty deserts, and awesome matcha cappuccino, unfortunately not enough space
Breadbelly is the ultimate comfort and I want it all the time.
Great cafe tucked in the Richmond. Really delicious pastries with Asian inspirations. Coffee is just as wonderful as the staff. Beautiful interior and relaxed atmosphere.
Breadbelly is my favorite SF brunch place by far. Their pandan based pastries (kaya toast and kaya bun) are extremely addicting. Everything I’ve had there is delicious.
Amazing asian inspired pastries, foods and drinks!
Coffee was fine, but too expensive for a small mug. The food was interesting, and I'm sure it's good to some. Just not to my tastes. Their specialty toast is very (sickly?) sweet, almost custardy, and it'd be good as a dessert. Overall, there are better cafe options around for me. Give it a shot yourself and see if you like it.
Amazing dining experience. The quality of the food was great. The staff was so friendly and the vibe was very cozy. A true neighborhood gem.
Love the food. Everything is flavorful and the portions are a good size. The curry pan was on point. Crispy on the outside, fluffy bread and delicious curry on the inside. With a side of mushroom broth? Winning combo!
Super friendly bakery with innovative dishes and pastries of exceptional quality, influenced by the culinary traditions of several Asian countries. It's the long awaited permanent location of what was a cult pop up around SF for the last few months. The Kaya toast is always the star of the show for me, although everything is just succulent. The coffee was also great. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Lunch was amazing! Milk bread was fantastic as well as the components of my tuna sandwich. I also recommend the ‘Not Ube’ Tart.
After searching for a nice breakfast place on Clement St., I decided to come to Breadbelly (very cute name;) The very relaxing atmosphere when I stepped in this place was my first impression. There were so many things that sound yummy on the menu but I decided to try (NOT!) Ube tart and Hodo soy milk with winter melon. The tart was very yummy and it went well with the soy milk, the winter melon was a good gimmick. I will definitely go back to try more things there.
Great spot for coffee and small bites! People come and go in waves, but the service is pretty quick and the staff were all friendly. I'd definitely go back.
We got the pandan kaya toast and the kaya toast. Both were delicious! Quality food, but this place is definitely on the pricey side.
Everything was wonderful. Cute, bright space. Deliciously light and fluffy toasts (highly recommend the kaya toast and the scallion/shallot butter toast). Staff were always friendly and warm!
Cute little place! They have good pastries and drinks. We ordered the the Ube Tart and some Persimmon Cookies. We also got the Sesame Horchata, which was nutty and good.
Dear gawd...Breakfast Sandwich:There is some sweet sesame seed sauce on a seaweed layered within the greens? OMGEEE.. A perfectly cooked egg, thick ham but not to thick. A light smear of chili paste all on a mind blowing brioche bun. Yeah, you can take my money any day.
Lovely little spot with fresh and original pastries , great coffee . We’ll be back .
Love love love their kaya toast, kaya buns, brown butter mochi, ube tart, their amazing everything bun, ...... so many amazing options. Love.
Amazing fusion cuisine with great options for breakfast. Don’t miss the sesame horchata, it’s really good!
Creative and delicious baked goods and menu items. Refreshingly different. Kaya!
A nice spot for a bite and coffee, breadbelly offers up a good spot for a visit. I enjoyed the Kaya toast and the sesame iced drink. Cookie was 3/5. Service was great, but the prices of some food items felt a little high. The Kaya toast was nicely made fresh, and had great flavor as it comes out warm. I’d visit breadbelly again.
Unique and exceptionally well prepared sweets and savory lunch items in a bright and cozy cafe setting. Bring your granny or your best friend and prepare to be delighted by the flavors, you won’t find magical baked goods and small plates this creative and affordable anywhere else in the city. Coffee is also on-point!
The sandwiches are phenomenal, with extremely light and fluffy bread. I specifically like the tuna and char siu sandwiches. The overall atmosphere is nice and it's well lit. They also request no computers on weekends.
Very unique snacks, and good drinks! I always always get the Kaya toast here -- highly recommend!!!!!!! My friend got the grilled cheese and it's really good as well (gochujang, cheese, and milk bread, what could go wrong!). The brown butter mochi was mediocre, and I disliked the yuzu marmalade banana bread.
You must visit Breadbelly. The combination of flavors and quality are not to be missed. I don't know if there's a bad item on the menu to be honest. If you want something heartier, their breakfast sandwich is stick to your ribs good without inducing a food coma. Get there early so you can get their baked items before they sell out (and a table too!)
Delicious food if you're in this part of town. The flavors are exquisite. Do note some of the pastries are seasonal, so I missed the tart.
Interesting menu. Very different than your usual bakery. Amazing sesame horchata. Super nice staff!
Good food. No decaf in hot form. Boo.
Cute cozy cafe with asian bread/pastries. Kaya toast is a must!! I also liked gyeran bbang, corn bread with egg. Their sesame hochata (iced) drink was amazing!
Decent food but way overpriced. Definitely a spot for the instagram crowd where looks are more important than actual substance. Two dogs randomly hanging out in the dining area. We took our food to go. I love dogs but don't care for them inside a restaurant. This place seems pretty loose about animals inside.
Delicious and fresh flavors. Pricey but worth it in quality.
An AMAZING hidden gem with the best coffee, DELICIOUS handmade Asian pastries, a comfortable relaxing ambiance and wonderful, kind, helpful staff. You absolutely must check this place out! (My favorite pastry is their purple sweet potato tart!). As I always mention in my reviews when relevant, going here supports a small, local, female, and minority, owned business.
Tuna sandwich is an excellent choice. The shop is not big but it is neat. They also have small desserts which are worth a try as well.
